Nigerian Content Creators Celebrate As Nigeria Becomes Eligible to Earn Money on Facebook

As of Thursday, June 27, Nigeria is now eligible for Facebook content monetization following approval from Meta, Facebook’s parent company.

This significant development has been celebrated by numerous content creators across the platform.

Before this change, content creators with Nigerian addresses could not monetise their Facebook content unless they managed their pages from a country that was already eligible for monetisation. Now, Nigerian content creators can earn advertisement revenue directly from Meta.

The new eligibility means that creators in Nigeria can monetise their content through various means, including in-stream ads, live ads, ads on reels, bonuses, and subscriptions. This opens up substantial earning opportunities for many Nigerian users of the platform.

Several creators took to Facebook to express their joy upon seeing the approval notification in their professional dashboards. Praise Chidera Obiora, a story writer on Facebook, was among those who posted about the development, congratulating fellow creators and hailing it as a massive win for Nigeria.

This approval underscores Meta’s recognition of the growing content creation community in Nigeria and provides a new avenue for creators to benefit financially from their hard work and creativity.

He wrote:

“Congratulations Nigeria. We are eligible for monetization.”
