Nigerian music executive Samklef has taken to social media to mock Davido after Tems won the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards. Samklef shared a video of Davido’s past interview where he seemingly condemned the Grammy Awards, and captioned it, “Covetousness is when you secretly desire something but condemn it simply because you couldn’t have it.”
Samklef continued to taunt Davido, sharing a fake plaque for the Best African Music Performance award, saying, “30BGs make una use this one hold body! Next year Davido go win the real one.” He also praised Tems, saying she won because of her “real talent” and not because of show-offs or bribery.
Samklef’s tweets sparked reactions from fans, with some defending Davido and others supporting Samklef’s views. One user wrote, “Davido is greater than everybody shading him,” while another said, “Imagine beefing on someone that doesn’t even send your daddy.”
