The sister of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) lecturer involved in a viral altercation with a student has spoken out, offering new insights into the incident. During a live interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, she described her brother as a “calm and humble” person while recounting his version of events. 
According to her, the lecturer contacted her immediately after the confrontation, explaining that tensions flared when he overheard the student remark, “Who does he even think he is, even if he’s a lecturer?” Curious if she was his student, he approached her and noticed she was recording a video. He reportedly asked her to delete the footage, citing privacy concerns, but the situation escalated unexpectedly.
“Before he could process what was happening, she attacked him—scratching, biting, and drawing blood from his arm,” the sister shared. She expressed shock at the severity of the incident, noting her brother initially downplayed it during their call. “He’s the most peaceful person I know. He’s someone who’d say, ‘The Holy Spirit told me to let it go,’” she added, emphasizing his character.
The family was stunned when the video spread online, sparking widespread debate. Many social media users speculated about the lecturer’s intentions, with some defending the student. The sister refuted insinuations of misconduct, stating, “His wife is a magistrate, for God’s sake. These accusations are baseless.”
UNIZIK has since announced an investigation into the altercation, pledging to take appropriate disciplinary action. The incident has ignited discussions about student-lecturer dynamics and campus conduct protocols.
