A University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) master’s student has taken a lady to court, demanding ₦2.5 million in emotional damages and fraud allegations after she rejected his romantic advances.
The lady, who shared her ordeal on social media, explained that she met the man while she was a 400-level student at Kwara State University. Despite her clear rejection of his romantic interest, he continued to send her money and gifts.
When she finally told him she had no feelings for him, he filed a lawsuit, accusing her of fraud. The lady received calls from the police and the man’s lawyer, claiming her attention was needed at the station.

However, the lady was able to clear her name, as their chat history proved she had repeatedly declined his money and gifts. She credited her brother, who works with the Department of State Services (DSS), and their family lawyer for helping her resolve the issue.

The lady recounted the events, saying:
“The guy is a master’s student at UNILORIN. When we met, I told him he wasn’t my type, but he refused to leave me alone.”
“He kept sending me money and giving me everything I wanted. When I finally told him I had nothing to offer him, we stopped talking for two weeks. Suddenly, I got a call from the police, saying I had been charged with fraud.”
