22-year-old man who fell to his death from Iconic 26-storey Cocoa house buried in Ibadan

A tragic incident involving a 22-year-old man has been reported in Ibadan, where he lost his life after falling from an upper floor of the iconic 26-storey Cocoa House.

The young man, whose identity was not disclosed in the report, was laid to rest by the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel.

It was revealed that the deceased was a recent graduate of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), and had been participating in a cybersecurity training program at the time the fatal fall occurred. The incident took place on a Tuesday, though the exact circumstances surrounding the fall have not been publicly detailed.

According to Tribune Online, the young man had been living with his mother in the Meridian area of Apata, Ibadan, while his father is based in the United States. Family sources described him as someone who, despite being from a privileged background, displayed notable humility and respect.

One close family acquaintance recalled, “He came from a good home and was very humble and respectful. He had a car that his parents gave him, but you’d never know from the way he carried himself.”

The burial was conducted under the auspices of the Living Faith Church, reflecting the family’s religious affiliation. The tragic loss has sparked a wave of sympathy, with many mourning the untimely death of a promising young individual whose life was cut short under unfortunate circumstances.

This report has been respectfully prepared using passive voice, in adherence to responsible reporting standards and digital content guidelines.

Another witness shared troubling details about how the situation was managed following the fall:

“The company said he was taken to the emergency ward, but he had already died. His mother wasn’t even contacted by the company. It was a random person who called her,” the source claimed.

Eyewitnesses further stated that efforts by 32 FM, a radio station operating within Cocoa House, to take photos at the scene were blocked.

“His body was quickly covered with a cloth. I heard his body was badly mangled,” the witness added.

Sources also revealed that the victim’s family is contemplating legal action against the company overseeing his training, accusing it of negligence in ensuring safety and in the way the aftermath of the incident was handled.
