UK-based Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega has publicly disclosed that he has been diagnosed with cancer, a condition he revealed he has been battling privately for several months.
This revelation was made in a heartfelt video message shared with members of his church congregation.
Pastor Adegboyega, who is the founder of the Nxtion Family (formerly known as Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church), spoke candidly about his health challenges. In the message, he confirmed that he recently underwent surgery related to the diagnosis and expressed gratitude for the support he has received.
Although he did not go into full details about the type or stage of the cancer, Pastor Adegboyega emphasized his faith and strength throughout the difficult period. The tone of his message was one of resilience and hope, aiming to reassure his followers of his continued commitment to his spiritual mission despite his health condition.
The announcement has drawn messages of support and prayers from both his church members and the broader public, many of whom were unaware of his ongoing health struggle until now.
“I was diagnosed with cancer. Yes, you heard me right. I’ve been dealing with cancer for the past few months or even more. I just had a major surgery, that’s why I am not there today,” he said.
The clergyman described surviving the illness as a sign from God, saying:
“I have just fought the battle, and I feel the verdict to continue life was given to me by God for a new level, for a new stage.”
In a show of support for others facing similar battles, Pastor Adegboyega also donated £100,000 to support cancer awareness and treatment for young people.
His announcement has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians offering prayers and wishing him a full recovery.
The revelation comes shortly after the pastor lost an appeal in a £1.87 million fraud case, as well as efforts to prevent his deportation from the UK.
