Popular Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, known professionally as Odumodublvck, has sparked mixed reactions online following controversial remarks made during a recent interview.
The “Declan Rice” crooner openly criticized fellow rapper Blaqbonez for declaring himself the best rapper in Nigeria.
Odumodublvck described Blaqbonez’s self-acclaimed title as disrespectful to legendary figures in Nigerian hip-hop, including MI Abaga, Vector, Olamide, Mode 9, and Phyno. He argued that such a claim undermines the contributions of the genre’s foundational artists.
He further questioned Blaqbonez’s credibility, noting that the “Sex Over Love” artist has never been nominated for either Best Rap Album or Best Rap Single of the Year. Odumodublvck also alleged that Blaqbonez is not in high demand for performances, claiming that during the last festive season, he was not booked for shows and only performed when invited by friends.
Expressing his frustration, Odumodublvck boldly stated that he could punch Blaqbonez in the face for claiming to be the best rapper in Nigeria and Africa, a comment that has added fuel to an already heated debate within the Nigerian rap community.
Odumodublvck said; “To say you are the best rapper in Nigeria, stop joking, you are not best rapper, MI is the best rapper, vector is the best rapper, if you are the best rapper, you would have won the best rap album of the year, you are not even nominated for best rap single, I am not better than Phyno as rapper, see look at his legacy, Olamide, Vector, MI, Mode 9, Ghost, Tec.
“So for me to say I am the best rapper, that means I have to be the best rapper, but if you are not, stop saying it, it is getting on my nerves, bro, you can get smacked in the face for that kind of shit, because this is real business. Stop lying to the kids.
“You are the best rapper, nobody is even booking you for shows, Christmas go check that pussy did anyone book him for shows, it is only his friends that are calling him for shows bro.”
