Jordan Wike, 25-year-old son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, is at the center of growing controversy after reports surfaced that he received special land allocations in Abuja worth billions of dollars.

According to documents obtained by Peoples Gazette, Jordan was listed as the beneficiary of at least 1,740 hectares of land — worth an estimated $2.85 billion — between 2024 and 2025. Some of these land parcels were said to have been reclaimed by his father, the minister, from previous owners over alleged compliance violations.

This is not the first time the Wike family has come under scrutiny. His younger brother, Joaquin Wike, 23, reportedly received 2,082 hectares during the same period, valued at approximately $3.6 billion. Combined, the two brothers are linked to over 3,800 hectares — an estimated $6.45 billion in real estate.

Civil servants and urban planning insiders have reportedly described the allocations as “highly questionable,” especially considering the timing, scale, and beneficiaries. Despite widespread public backlash, the minister has denied any wrongdoing, with his spokesperson insisting the listings were “purely coincidental.”
