The long-standing rivalry between Afrobeats superstars Davido and Wizkid has resurfaced online following a new exchange on social media.
It all began after Wizkid, the “Essence” crooner, took to his verified X account (formerly Twitter), where he boldly declared himself as the “biggest artiste in the Nigerian music industry.”
The statement quickly drew attention and stirred reactions from fans and industry watchers alike. However, it did not go unanswered.
Roughly seven hours later, Davido responded on his own official X page. In a direct jab, the “Unavailable” singer dismissed Wizkid’s claim, saying, “Biggest for your parlour.”
Davido, a father of twins and one of Nigeria’s most commercially successful artists, seemed to imply that Wizkid’s reign was limited to his personal space, not the industry at large.
The online back-and-forth has reignited fan debates over who truly holds the title of Nigeria’s biggest music export, once again highlighting the intense competition and fan loyalty surrounding both stars.
As of now, neither artiste has issued further clarification or commentary.
Today, July 22nd, 2025, Wizkid tweeted, “Biggest

Backing up his point, Davido’s newly released album “5ive” is leading the Nigerian projects to debut on the Billboard World Albums Chart in 2025.
After claiming that Wizkid is just the biggest in his palour, Davido went on to describe himself as the biggest artiste afterwards.
