Popular teenage TikToker Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, widely known as Peller, has opened up about his decision to convert from Islam to Christianity, citing a deeply personal experience from his childhood.
The revelation came during a recent livestream where Peller was interacting with fans. A viewer referred to him as a Muslim, but his response caught many by surprise.
“I am not a Muslim. I attend church,” he replied without hesitation.
Peller went on to explain the reason behind his conversion. According to him, he once attended a Quranic school as a child, but the experience was far from positive. Instead of finding peace or spiritual growth, he said the environment left him emotionally scarred and disconnected from the faith.
He stated: “While I was young, I used to attend a Quranic school. I was beaten mercilessly,” he said during the livestream. That was why I stopped attending there.”
For him, the physical discipline he endured at the Quranic school shaped his view of religion and ultimately drove him away from Islam.
