Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, widely known as Mr Eazi, once revealed that he had no idea his wife Temi Otedola came from a wealthy family when they first met.
The disclosure came in a 2018 interview that has resurfaced online, following renewed interest after the couple’s recent $15 million private wedding. The lavish event, which featured Temi’s $250,000 bridal gown, was attended by high-profile guests including business moguls Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu of BUA Cement.
Reflecting on how their relationship began, Mr Eazi explained that he met Temi through her sister, DJ Cuppy, who had invited him to an event she was performing at in London. He recalled that while Cuppy was busy on the turntables, he suddenly found himself spending time with Temi, which marked the start of their connection.
The resurfaced clip has drawn attention as fans look back at the simplicity of their first meeting compared to the grandeur of their wedding years later.
The female interviewer asked; “Do you know you were talking to a lady who was an heiress to billionaire Femi Otedola, worth over $1.2billion at that time.”
Mr Eazi said; “I knew I was talking to my friend sister.”
The singer noted that he does not know how much her father is worth, as he stressed on how much he loves her naturally.
During the old interview, Mr Eazi speaks on his kind of wedding as he said that he would love a coded wedding with family and friends.
In his words, “Some coded place, some island with few family and friends, maximum 50 people, just some nice romantic things with some flowers, then candle,s then secrets where no cameras are allowed.”
