Drake had made headlines by placing a bet of $615,000, approximately N1 billion, on Francis Ngannou to defeat Anthony Joshua. A win for Ngannou would have earned Drake $1,906,500, approximately N3 billion.
However, Anthony Joshua secured a stunning victory by knocking out Francis Ngannou in the second round of the heavyweight bout. Joshua dropped Ngannou with a clean right hand in the first round and repeated the feat in the second round. The knockout punch came at 2:38 of the second round.
Anthony Joshua’s victory positions him for a shot at the undisputed heavyweight title and the winner of the upcoming bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
