Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has publicly slammed skit maker Carter Efe following a disagreement over a proposed TikTok live appearance.
The clash began after Carter Efe approached Portable to join one of his livestream sessions, but was shocked when Portable demanded ₦10 million for the appearance.
Carter Efe, visibly surprised, questioned the high fee, saying, “How much we dey make for the live stream? I just tire.” This comment didn’t sit well with Portable, who fired back in a heated video, accusing Carter of trying to exploit him—just as he allegedly did with his former signee, Young Duu.
Portable labeled Carter a “thief,” claiming that Carter had failed to support Young Duu after relocating him to Lekki, providing neither food, clothing, nor a car. He insisted that Carter must pay before making any requests, asserting that artists should charge for appearances.
The incident reignites old tensions, particularly the fallout between Carter and Young Duu, who reportedly left Carter’s label amid exploitation claims. Portable emphasized that he had advised Young Duu to demand payment for appearances, warning that failing to do so would lead to being used and discarded.
