In a recent social media post, popular Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, professionally known as Medikal, boldly declares himself one of the wealthiest African artists.
Via his handle on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), Medikal goes on to claim that, apart from Davido, he surpasses the wealth of other Nigerian artists.
Medikal’s assertion has sparked considerable attention, particularly as he takes a subtle dig at emerging Nigerian sensation Rema and other talented musicians. The rapper supports his claim by sharing a tweet that seemingly establishes his superiority over Rema. This follows Medikal sharing a screenshot of a conversation with YouTuber Kai Cenat, where Kai expresses anticipation for a hero’s welcome upon his arrival in Ghana.

A Twitter user in a reply to Medikal’s post said:
“Big artiste like you …You don’t know the meaning of GOAT u just Dey use am anyhow …Jon Rapper”.
Another X user added; “Bro MDK is 10 years older than the boy ooo …MDK go fit do boy boy give REMA Asuer.”
And that attracted Medikal’s attention, to which he responded:
“The only Nigerian artist wey hold pass me na Davido I swear”.
