Jennifer Odonwodo, wife of the late Nollywood actor Jnr Pope, has stirred emotional reactions online with a heartfelt tribute to her first son, Jason, on his graduation day.
In a touching post shared via social media, Jennifer celebrated her son’s milestone with gratitude to God, whom she described as “a father to the fatherless and a husband to widows.” She reflected on the difficult journey since her husband’s passing, expressing how God stepped in during moments of silence and sorrow.
Writing partly in Igbo, she declared “Man is not God,” a statement that emphasized her faith and reliance on divine strength. Jennifer recalled how her late husband had eagerly looked forward to this very day and how proud he would have been to see their son’s achievement. Though the day was marked by joy, it was also laced with pain, as she remembered the deep void left by his absence.
She used the moment to reaffirm her family’s commitment to Jnr Pope’s love, values, and memory. She also extended prayers to her recently deceased father-in-law and thanked everyone who had supported her and the children.
In a heartwarming video shared from the event, Nollywood actress Empress Njamah was seen celebrating with Jason. During their conversation, Jason mentioned he had wished for a laptop as a birthday gift but wasn’t sure if his mom could afford it. Touched by his honesty, Empress surprised him with a brand-new laptop, lighting up his big day with joy.
The celebration comes just weeks after Jennifer’s viral prayer post, which drew massive support and sympathy from fans across Nigeria.
