A Nigerian lady, Obot Ifiokobong Patrick, has celebrated her remarkable achievement of earning a nursing degree from the University of Derby, UK.
This milestone comes four years after she lost her initial opportunity to study the same course at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
Obot Ifiokobong Patrick took to TikTok to share her inspiring story of perseverance and triumph. She revealed that she had secured direct entry admission to study nursing at UNN in November 2019 and began her program in 2020. However, due to overadmission issues within the university, her department was changed, and her dream of studying nursing at UNN was thwarted.
Despite this setback, Obot was determined not to give up on her dream. She applied to the University of Derby, passed the required exams, and gained admission. She successfully completed her studies in May 2024, earning her nursing degree.
Obot’s story is a testament to her resilience and determination to achieve her goals despite the obstacles she faced. Her journey serves as an inspiration to many who may find themselves in similar situations, proving that with perseverance, dreams can indeed come true.
