A fresh wave of controversy has emerged following reports that Naira Marley allegedly failed to fulfill a ₦30 million promise made to Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad.
According to claims made by entertainment blogger Cutie Juls, Naira Marley had purportedly promised Joseph Aloba the sum of ₦30 million. This alleged promise reportedly influenced Aloba to shift blame for Mohbad’s death onto his daughter-in-law, Olawunmi, instead of Naira Marley, despite ongoing suspicions and investigations surrounding the singer’s death.
Cutie Juls further claimed that after Naira Marley was cleared of direct involvement in Mohbad’s assault and subsequent death, Aloba attempted to follow up on the alleged monetary promise. However, upon being allegedly ignored, Aloba reportedly filed a lawsuit in pursuit of justice and the owed funds.
The blogger alleged that the case was dismissed by the court, and that Joseph Aloba has not received the ₦30 million as previously promised.
This development comes amid renewed public pressure for accountability in Mohbad’s tragic case. Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away on September 12, 2023, with circumstances around his death still drawing suspicion despite several court appearances and police interventions.
As of now, neither Naira Marley nor his legal representatives have publicly addressed or confirmed the existence of such a promise or the lawsuit surrounding it.
