Popular Nigerian comedian and singer Carter Efe has stirred a wave of mixed reactions on social media following the release of a new video in which he openly declared a shift in loyalty from Wizkid to Davido.
In the viral clip, Carter Efe, during a live session with fellow artist Khaid, expressed disappointment over Wizkid’s continued lack of acknowledgment, despite years of public support.
The entertainer, who is also a father of one, recalled his efforts to promote the star, notably through his viral tribute track “Machala,” which celebrated Wizkid. However, Carter lamented that the Afrobeats icon never reposted the song or showed him any form of appreciation, prompting his decision to distance himself from the singer.
During the conversation, Khaid advised Carter Efe to remain hopeful, suggesting that Wizkid might still recognize his efforts someday. Despite this, Carter’s body language and tone suggested a sense of finality, as he appeared unbothered and declared that he no longer needed Wizkid. He went on to show support for Davido by energetically vibing to the singer’s hit song “Gobe” during the session.
