Nigerian actor, Charles Okocha, has formally called for the complete cancellation of his recent ring fight against Nigerian singer Portable.
Okocha alleges cheating and an inexperienced referee in the match that took place on December 26th, where Portable was declared the winner.
Following the referee’s decision, Portable met the requirements for victory in the boxing match. However, Charles Okocha has raised concerns about the integrity of the match, claiming that Portable removed his boxing gloves during the third round, a violation that, according to Okocha, should have resulted in an immediate disqualification.
Okocha’s call for the total cancellation of the fight indicates a desire for a fair resolution to the dispute and highlights the importance of maintaining transparency and adherence to rules in organized sporting events.
In a post on his social media page, he said, “How can you give up in the 3rd round when we have 4 rounds? How do you take off your gloves in the third round, leading to total disqualification when the fight hasn’t ended?”
“Y’all know this was rigged, with an incompetent referee who knows nothing about boxing rules. Nevertheless, we move on. Rematch coming soon.”
