Popular Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has evoked emotional responses online by sharing his chat with actress Aderounmu Adejoke just days before her passing.
The news of Aderounmu Adejumoke’s death, known for her role as “Esther” in the popular series Jenifer’s Diary, saddened many as it was reported on April 6th, 2024, at the age of 40.
The announcement was made by the actress’s brother, Adeola Aderonmu, via his Instagram story. While the cause of Jumoke’s passing remains unknown, celebrities expressed their condolences on social media.
Amidst Aderounmu Adejumoke’s absence from the screen for a while, actor Deyemi Okanlawon revealed their recent interaction. In the shared chat, Adejumoke expressed gratitude to Deyemi for reaching out and, despite her own financial constraints, mentioned her intention to reciprocate the gesture by contacting him as well.
Sharing the message, Deyemi Okanlawon wrote;
“Death brings everything into perspective often times helping us see how trivial some of the things we concern ourselves with are. Jumoke I am so so sorry, I thought we had all the time in the world and really should have just called. Goodbye my dear friend…. we will continue the conversations in a better place! 🥲 Pls pick up the phone and call someone you love today… ♥️.”
