Popular TikToker Peller has responded to backlash following his recent cameraman recruitment, which drew over 20 applicants, including one MSc degree holder who later claimed the entire process was staged for content.
In a fresh statement, Peller clarified that he has already selected one person for the ₦500K-a-month role. Addressing criticism from a female applicant who accused him of livestreaming the interview and asking about her tribe, Peller explained that it was a joke, and everyone present was informed that the session would be live.
He added that no one was forced to apply, and urged critics to stop blaming him. “I didn’t drag anyone to apply,” he said, making it clear the opportunity was open and voluntary. His comments have sparked mixed reactions, with some defending him while others question the line between real opportunities and content-driven gimmicks.

I’ve finally chosen the cameraman from the 20 people that came yesterday. As for the girl saying I asked for her tribe and livestreamed it, I was joking, and I told everyone it would be live. I didn’t drag anyone to apply, so stop putting the blame on me. — Peller pic.twitter.com/vRhDU4w8cH
