Popular Nigerian social media activist and influencer Verydarkman has taken to the internet to share a deeply personal and disappointing revelation.
In a candid post, he disclosed that he recently discovered he is AS genotype, a finding that unexpectedly shattered his hopes of marriage, especially with the three women he had strong romantic interest in.
According to Verydarkman, he had always believed he was AA genotype, which would have meant he could safely marry anyone without the risk of giving birth to children with sickle cell disease. However, a recent genotype test revealed the shocking truth: he is actually AS.
This revelation dealt a heavy emotional blow, as he explained that all three of his love interests are also AS. Medically, two individuals with the AS genotype are strongly advised not to marry or have children together, due to the 25% risk of having a child with SS genotype (sickle cell anemia) in every pregnancy. The devastating implications of this genetic compatibility issue forced Verydarkman to come to terms with the fact that none of these relationships could move forward.
Beyond his personal heartbreak, Verydarkman used his platform to raise awareness about the importance of knowing one’s genotype early in life. He urged his followers — especially young people — to verify their genotype status before getting emotionally invested in relationships, to avoid similar heartbreak and complications in the future.
His transparency has sparked widespread discussion online, with many commending him for using his personal experience to educate others, and some even sharing their own genotype-related stories in solidarity.
His words in part …
“They just told me my genotype and my blood group now…I’ve always thought that I was AA. When they told me I ask some babes when I know say theres a possibilitty..the first one say na AS, the second and third one say na AS….”
