Popular skit maker and influencer MC Mbakara has stepped in to support Nkese Eyo, the MSc holder who was previously ridiculed by TikToker Peller during a live-streamed job interview.
Nkese, an Efik woman from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, faced public embarrassment when Peller wrongly assumed she was from Ghana and dismissed her for being “too old” and “not Nigerian.” The moment sparked backlash online, with many accusing Peller of tribal insensitivity and exploiting applicants for content.
MC Mbakara, who shares the same Efik roots as Nkese, took the opportunity to uplift her by offering her a proper job and paying her a first salary of ₦500,000. In a touching video, the comedian emphasized the importance of treating people with respect regardless of age, tribe, or background.
The gesture has been widely praised as a powerful response to online humiliation and a win for dignity and representation.
