A new video circulating on social media captures the moment when popular Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan loses his eyesight during the #EndBadGovernance protest in Abuja.
Today, August 2, 2024, marks the second day of the planned nationwide protests. Nigerians across various states have taken to the streets to protest against hardship and hunger.
VeryDarkMan joined the #EndBadGovernance protesters in Abuja for a peaceful demonstration. However, the protest took a turn when police began firing tear gas sporadically at the protesters.
Tragically, tear gas was fired at VeryDarkMan, injuring one of his eyes. He shared a video of himself lamenting the incident, showing his swollen eye.
According to VeryDarkMan, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wike, who was formerly the governor of River State, ordered security officials to fire tear gas at the #EndBadGovernance protesters in Abuja.
