Afrobeats superstar Davido recently surprised fans by appearing on the vlog of Nigerian US-based content creator and food vlogger, Idrees Rasheed, popularly known as Balogun.
The unexpected collaboration quickly went viral as the duo prepared a traditional Yoruba meal — Amala with Gbegiri soup — from scratch.
Fans were particularly amused by Davido’s Yoruba accent, which sounded heavily influenced by American pronunciation. Many couldn’t get over the way he stirred the Amala like a pro, and how he operated a juice processor to prepare fresh fruit juice, showcasing a different, homely side of the global music star.
The video ends with Davido and Balogun sitting together to enjoy the meal, laughing and bonding over food.
