The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has officially declared Nigerian entertainer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, wanted over serious allegations including r#pe, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
This development was confirmed in a statement posted on NAPTIP’s verified Instagram account on Friday, where the agency appealed to the public for credible information regarding his whereabouts.
The case gained public attention following a controversial Instagram live session in which Speed Darlington allegedly confessed to having s#xual relations with a 15-year-old girl—a claim made on May 27, 2025, coinciding with Nigeria’s Children’s Day. The video quickly went viral and triggered public outrage and demands for immediate legal action.
NAPTIP subsequently invited Okoye to appear for questioning at their Abuja office on May 30, 2025. He initially responded by requesting a reschedule to June 26, citing prior commitments. Despite this, he failed to honour both the original and the rescheduled appointments.
A follow-up letter issued by the agency emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, labeling the matter one of national concern. A final deadline of June 2 was issued, but the entertainer remained absent.
With all deadlines ignored, NAPTIP has now moved to declare Speed Darlington officially wanted and has urged the public to come forward with any useful information that could assist in locating him.
