A 46-year-old Nigerian woman, who recently opened up about her lifelong struggle with loneliness and her status as a virgin, has begun receiving marriage proposals from both Nigerian men and suitors abroad. This was disclosed in a recent update shared by Agidigbo FM.
The woman, whose identity has been kept confidential, shared her emotional story during a heartfelt interview on Kokoro Alate, a popular radio programme hosted by veteran broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat.
During the interview, she revealed that despite being financially independent and diligent in her work, she had never experienced a romantic relationship or sexual intimacy throughout her life. Her openness struck a chord with listeners, prompting numerous responses from men expressing interest in marriage.
The unexpected outpouring of attention has drawn significant interest online, with many praising her honesty and courage in speaking publicly about her personal journey.
She described years of feeling unwanted and dismissed, especially by younger people who often referred to her as a “grandma.”
“I am 46 years old. I have never had sxx. If there’s anything you can use to test me, you can do it. I do not know how to run after men. Three years ago, I noticed men began to see me as an aged woman. I sell goods; I’m not lazy. But the rejection has become too much,” she said during the broadcast.
Her heartfelt plea sparked widespread reactions, with many listeners expressing sympathy and admiration for her courage.
In a follow-up broadcast, Hamzat announced that the woman’s story had touched many hearts, leading to a wave of marriage proposals from within Nigeria and from Nigerians in the United States and the United Kingdom.
“We’ve been getting calls from men, serious-minded individuals, who say they want to meet and marry her,” Hamzat disclosed. He also invited the woman back to the station to review the proposals and possibly take steps toward finding a life partner.
