A Nigerian woman identified as Jennifer has been sentenced to seven years in prison or ordered to pay ₦450,000 in damages after a case involving a ₦30,000 transport fare took an unexpected turn in court.
According to reports, Jennifer received the money from a man named Emmanuel to cover her travel expenses, but failed to appear as agreed.
What began as a personal disagreement escalated into a legal matter when the case was brought before a magistrates’ court, resulting in a ruling that highlighted the serious consequences that can arise from financial disputes when handled through formal legal channels.
