A Nigerian man made a remarkable sacrifice by choosing to attend a job exam with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited over his own wedding, which was scheduled on the same day.
According to a tweet shared by @young_engr_, the man’s colleague, he prioritized the exam and missed his wedding. His decision earned him the nickname “Angon NNPC” from his colleagues.
Fortunately, his sacrifice paid off, as he secured the job on merit without any connections. The tweet read:
“My colleague whose wedding was on the same day as the recruitment exam, man went for the exam and didn’t attend the wedding… Alhamdulillah, he got the job with no connection.”
NNPC Limited recently announced that it had begun sending appointment letters to successful candidates, following the completion of its recruitment exercise.
