BBNaija Whitemoney says he’s better than Davido, Wizkid & others

Big Brother Naija reality TV star and singer, Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has claimed to be the biggest artist in the music industry during a recent interview with his colleague, Doyin.

Whitemoney, who is also a businessman, declared that no musician can match his talents, criticizing most Nigerian singers for lacking lyrical depth. In his conversation with Doyin, he emphasized that his music genre is distinct from Afrobeat stars like Wizkid and Davido, stating that he no longer cares about criticisms.

In his words, “I am the first of my kind. I created my own kind of sound and I don’t look up to my colleagues. I am not the best but nobody is better than me.”

“No artist make music like my music. Their sounds are not intentional to me. So when you drag me thinking you are hurting me, you are doing me a favour. Don’t stop dragging me. Never give up.”

“I don’t like being stereotyped or being boxed. I could care less about big 3 or whatever. All I know is I am the big 1. No one can match my talent. What I am about to do to the industry now, dem go believe. I will not just be in the music industry as an artist, I will be there as a businessman because in the near future I intend to own a record label.”

It is crucial to know that Whitemoney came into spotlight after joining Big Brother Naija season 6 and winning a whooping sum of N90 million grand prize. Following his win, he delved into music and has produced numerous songs.

On 3 December 2021, he released a single ‘Selense’ which was produced by Masterkraft, the song was released alongside its video. He also produced ‘Oyoyo’ in 2023, ‘Na we-we’ in 2022.

Although none of his songs has been nominated in any local or international awards, he declared himself as the “big 1” in the music industry. He put himself ahead of other Nigerian musicians like Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido.
