Curvy Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has taken to social media to make a plea to singer Davido as he prepares to donate N300 million to orphanages in Nigeria.
Davido, known for his philanthropic efforts, announced on February 20th, 2024, that he would be donating N300 million to orphanages in the country. This follows his previous generous donations to orphanages in 2021 and to the less privileged through the Adeleke Foundation in July 2023.
In response to Davido’s latest announcement, Nkechi Blessing appealed to him on her social media, expressing her need for financial assistance. This plea from the Nollywood actress highlights the challenges faced by some individuals during times of economic hardship and the impact of celebrities’ philanthropic gestures.
Davido wrote; “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow 🇳🇬.”
In response to Davido’s announcement of donating N300 million to orphanages, Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing took to the comment section, revealing that she is also an orphan and expressing her interest in the funds.
Nkechi Blessing, who lost her mother, Gloria Sunday (Iya Nkechi), in 2021, mentioned that she has no information about her father. In her comment, the actress alluded to her orphan status and conveyed her interest in the financial assistance being offered by Davido. This public comment brings attention to Nkechi Blessing’s personal circumstances and her hope for support during challenging times.

In December 2023, Nkechi Blessing and Bakare Zhainab reached out to Davido, composing a song for him in hopes of receiving financial support.
Their initiative stemmed from witnessing Wizkid’s gesture of showering hypeman GOE with N20 million after the success of the “Tatata” song, where he praised him.
Inspired by this act, Nkechi Blessing and Bakare Zhainab sought to garner Davido’s attention through their musical tribute, hoping for a similar response of generosity.
