“I am proud of you”- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Peter Obi celebrate Tems after winning an award at the 2025 Grammys

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi are celebrating Tems’ big win at the 2025 Grammys. Tems took home the award for Best African Music Performance for her song “Love Me Jeje”, beating out tough competition from Chris Brown, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake .President

President Tinubu congratulated Tems on his official X page, expressing pride in her achievement and acknowledging the inspiration she brings to Nigerians. He also congratulated other Nigerian artists who were nominated for the Grammy Awards.

Tinubu wrote; “Congratulations to @temsbaby on winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, “Love me jeje”. I am proud of her accomplishments and those of Nigerian origin who were nominated for the Grammy awards. Their achievements continue to inspire all Nigerians. Congratulations!.”

Peter Obi also extended his congratulations to Tems, praising her talent and the Nigerian entertainment industry as a whole. He emphasized his commitment to building a nation that supports youth growth and creativity.

Peter Obi wrote; “I am ever elated by the huge success Nigerian youths are making in various fields, especially in the entertainment sector. I like therefore to extend my hearty congratulations to our Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tems @temsbaby , who just secured her second Grammy Award with her win in the Best African Music Performance category. I also rejoice with Nigeria’s entertainment industry and other Nigerian artists who were nominated for different awards in their respective categories. Undoubtedly, Nigeria remains home to the endless flow of talents who through their creative arts, continue to put the nation on the global map. I firmly remain committed to building a nation that fosters growth among the youths and helps them discover and harness their individual talents for national productivity. Tems’ win marks her second Grammy Award, solidifying her position as a leading figure in Afrobeats and African music globally .
