Ronald Fenty, the father of global music icon Rihanna, has reportedly passed away at the age of 70 in Los Angeles following a brief illness.
The death was said to have occurred on May 31, 2025, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, with family members, including Rihanna and her younger brother Rajad Fenty, reportedly present during his final moments.
This development has come at a significant personal time for Rihanna, who is currently expecting her third child with partner A$AP Rocky — a pregnancy publicly revealed at the 2025 MET Gala. Despite media reports of Ronald Fenty’s passing, no official statement has been issued by Rihanna or her representatives.
The relationship between Rihanna and her father had long been characterized by turbulence and intermittent estrangement. Their differences became public in 2019 when Rihanna filed a lawsuit against him, alleging that he had used her name and image without authorization to promote his own business endeavors. Although the lawsuit was later withdrawn, it underscored longstanding tensions between them.
Nevertheless, Ronald Fenty had expressed gratitude in the past for Rihanna’s support, especially during his battle with COVID-19, when she was said to have provided medical assistance and checked on him regularly.
At the time of reporting, the public remains awaiting further information or official confirmation from the family.
