Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has warmed hearts online after rewarding several first-class graduates with ₦250,000 each.
It all began when the music star took to Twitter (now X), writing: “If you graduated with a First Class, post your transcript.” While some users, including critic Daniel Regha, advised against posting personal documents online, others went ahead and shared theirs.
What many didn’t expect was that Adekunle Gold had plans to reward excellence. Shortly after, selected participants began receiving ₦250K credit alerts, with many expressing shock and gratitude.
The recipients were chosen randomly, and the unexpected gesture has earned the singer praise for supporting academic achievement in a time when recognition for education often goes unnoticed.
