Veteran Nigerian actress Shaffy Bello, aged 54, has revealed that she is no longer interested in dating younger men, stating that her priorities have shifted toward seeking a more meaningful and lasting connection.
Speaking on the Dear Ife series hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, Bello shared that her past experience with a younger partner was enjoyable but purely seasonal.
“There is no need to,” she responded when asked if she would date a younger man again.
“I have done it before. I think what I want now is different. When I did it, I was having fun. It was for a season; the season is over. I know for sure what I want now is marriage.”
Shaffy also noted that she still receives attention from younger admirers, especially on social media, but their approach rarely impresses her.
“I am over 50 and young men are sliding into your DM. That is flattering, but the thing is, some of them are badly behaved. Some will come with ‘Hi, dear’,” she said, laughing off the trend.
While expressing her openness to marriage, Bello emphasized that her views on it have become more relaxed and personal.
“I don’t mind marriage… but I have a different opinion when it comes to marriage. I think a lot of people are very rigid about it,” she added.
