Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently issued a stern warning to fellow artists BNXN, Burna Boy, and others in a new social media post.
Davido, through his verified Instagram page on March 19th, 2024, expressed his frustration weeks after BNXN, formerly called Buju, criticized his music career.
BNXN responded to a Davido fan’s criticism of his new artist by dismissing Davido’s musical knowledge, leading Davido to unfollow BNXN and delete a tweet about an upcoming collaboration.
Davido and Burna Boy, his former labelmate, have had a rocky relationship, exchanging public jabs. While Davido called Burna Boy a new artist, Burna Boy mocked Davido for not winning any of his multiple Grammy nominations despite being nominated for the first time.
Davido has also faced backlash from fans of his industry rival Wizkid, known as the Wizkid FC.
Additionally, singer Omah Lay, who has ties with Wizkid and Burna Boy, caused a stir online when he mentioned feeling disliked by Davido before Davido acknowledged his song following Kai Cenat’s visit.
In response to these controversies, Davido, after defining Afrobeats recently, broke his silence. He acknowledged the ongoing attempts to discredit his work but expressed confidence in God’s support throughout his career.
Davido assured fans that 2024 would be a stellar year for him, promising hit songs and advising fans to prepare their speakers for his upcoming releases.
Davido wrote; “They all come together to discredit me … but God working overtime ! 2024 YEAR OF THE BEAST!! 🔊🌎🔥 FIX UR SPEAKERS WE DEY COME!!”
