Odunlade Adekola, Korede Bello, Toyin Abraham, Hilda Baci & other celebrities recreate popular song ‘We are the world’ to celebrate Children’s day

In celebration of this year’s Children’s Day on May 27th, celebrities across Nigeria’s entertainment industry came together to honor kids in a touching and emotional way.

A video circulating online captured the heartwarming moment when standout performers recreated the iconic 1985 song, “We Are the World,” originally sung by American legends Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

“We Are the World” was created to raise awareness and funds for humanitarian aid in Africa. Its message of global unity and compassion made it an ideal choice for celebrating Children’s Day.

The collaboration featured Nollywood actors and actresses such as Bisola Aiyeola, Maryam Booth, Odunlade Adekola, AMVCA trailblazer award winner Chimezie Imo, Toyin Abraham, Kate Henshaw, Sola Shobowale, Shaffy Bello, Fathia Williams, and many more. They captured the hearts of many with their unique styles and voices.

Media personalities like Enioluwa, Saga Adeolu, Taymesan Emmanuel, Toke Makinwa, Hilda Baci, and Veekee James also contributed to this powerful and moving tribute to children across the nation, singing passionately to the song.

Nigerian musicians Waje, Korede Bello, and Praiz added their melodious soprano tunes to the rendition of “We Are the World.” The notable stars infused some local flavors into the song while maintaining its powerful original message. They used the track to preach unity, love, and hope for a brighter future for all children, with some celebrities singing their lines in their native languages: Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and Akwa Ibom.

The video quickly gained traction on social media platforms, with fans and followers praising the celebrities for their heartfelt performance.
