“Very Terrible person, she called you, but you ignored her” – Late Aderounmu Adejumoke’s brother calls out Funke Akindele

Late Aderounmu Adejumoke’s brother calls out Funke Akindele

Adeola Aderounmu, the sibling of the late promising actress Jumoke Aderounmu, has publicly criticized Funke Akindele, accusing her of hypocrisy.

Following the news of Jumoke Aderounmu’s untimely passing on April 6th, 2024, at the age of 40, filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi initially shared the news, which was later confirmed by one of Jumoke Aderounmu’s cousins.

Funke Akindele, who had previously worked with Jumoke in her TV series “Jenifa’s Diary,” mourned her death on her Instagram story, expressing her condolences and wishing her eternal rest.

However, Adeola Aderounmu questioned Funke Akindele’s sincerity, particularly pointing out a recent comment by Funke where she claimed to have inquired about Jumoke’s well-being and prayed for her soul to rest in peace, as noted in the comment section of her colleague Jide Awobona’s post.

Funke Akindele wrote; “Sad!!! @jideawobona I still asked about her. OMG. May her soul rest in peace”.

Funke Akindele also reposted the graphics of late actress Adejumoke via the insta-stories section of her verified page and wrote; “Sad!!! rest well jumoke.”

Adeola Aderounmu, the brother of the late actress Jumoke Aderounmu, openly criticized Funke Akindele for what he saw as insincere condolences and hypocrisy, especially regarding her recent remarks concerning Jumoke’s demise.

“Aye & camera. To ba ri won kosa”, he wrote in Yoruba.

In a subsequent post, Adeola Aderounmu revealed that his sister had attempted to contact Funke Akindele multiple times via phone calls, but received no response. He emphasized how Jumoke had even reached out to another protege of Funke Akindele, Paschaline Alex, for assistance, yet still did not hear back from Funke before her tragic passing.

Expressing his confusion and disappointment at this apparent lack of responsiveness, Adeola questioned the sincerity of the condolences expressed by Funke Akindele following Jumoke’s death. He contrasted this with the genuine support shown by others, specifically mentioning Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga, for their compassionate gestures towards his family during their time of mourning.

He wrote; “You wey dey call tire, wey no turn-up. She even sent Pascal to you, you still no reach out! Why the eye service now wetin she don kpai? Omo! Shout-out to Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga “.
