According to circulating accounts, she had entrusted a sum of ₦6 million to a friend with the understanding that goods would be procured from China on her behalf. However, upon the arrival of the shipment, it was discovered that the consignment consisted solely of empty cartons, leaving her without the expected merchandise.
A video that has since gone viral on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) is said to show the woman in a state of extreme anguish. In the footage, she can be seen crying and rolling on the ground while recounting her loss, suggesting the gravity of the betrayal and financial setback she had suffered. The incident has drawn considerable attention online, with many expressing sympathy and concern over the breach of trust and the broader implications for small-scale entrepreneurs.
She revealed that the money used for the transaction was her entire savings, lamenting, “I paid her to clear the goods; it’s all my savings. This girl has ruined me. She should have told me the goods were just empty cartons.”
