Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, has been released from the Kuje Minimum Custodial Centre in Abuja after meeting his bail conditions. This development has sparked mixed reactions online, with some criticizing the bail and others celebrating his release.
Bello was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on two separate charges of alleged financial misconduct, involving the alleged theft of ₦110.4 billion and ₦80.2 billion, respectively. He was granted bail in the sum of ₦500 million for each of the two charges, amounting to a total bail condition of ₦1 billion.
