Popular Nigerian singer Naira Marley is one of the trending conversations online following the death of his former signee, Mohbad.
Mohbad, the “Peace” crooner whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba died today, September 12th 2023.
Following the death of Mohbad, internet users have started accusing his former boss Naira Marley of being responsible for the death of the 27-year-old.
Recall that Naira Marley signed Mohbad to his Marlian Recod label in 2019 before they both parted ways in 2022 in an unfriendly manner.
It all started following a video that surfaced online on February 25th 2023 where Mohbad cried out and by extension accused his boss Naira Marley and the record label of being after his life.
In his words; “I didn’t know these people have been hating on me; they have been doing bad bad things on me. Because of this issue; everybody in the whole world please help me, if I die like this, it is Marlian Music and Naira Marley that killed me…”
However in October 2022, Mohbad in another post via his official Twitter handles shares a video of his body parts revealing how badly he gets injured after being beating to pulp by some set of people in the label.
Reacting to this, Naira Marley, the Marlian Music boss during an Instagram live claimed that Mohbad is lying as he is being high on a harmful substances.
Responding, Mohbad claimed he is not high on alcohol, he was beaten mainly because he wanted to change his manager that happened to be Naira Marley brother to someone else.
Mohbad also shares photos of him receiving drip in a hospital as he gets admitted as an emergency hypertensive patient.
In the same October, Mohbad requests to terminate his contract with Marlian music following numerous attacks from Naira Marley.
Following this, Mohbad and Naira Marley unfollowed each other and even released diss tracks for each other.
Coming in, Bella Shmurda, a close associate of Mohbad expresses utmost displeasure at the way Naira Marley treated Mohbad.
He said; “A label is suppose to be your family not your enemy… The world is watching,that boy was doing very fine without u damn!!!.”
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Bella Shmurda speaks on how Mohbad attempted to commit suicide due to his fight with former boss Naira Marley.
